The Briefing Day is the official induction and starting point of Australia Speaks - an exclusive, full-day experience bringing program participants together in Sydney at the beginning of their six-week journey.
Hosted with Australia Speaks partners and industry contributors, the day will introduce you to professional media and creative environments through practical workshops, industry experiences and opportunities to connect with fellow participants, mentors and professionals.
Whether you are relatively new to screen production, journalism, or already working professionally, the day is designed to help you strengthen your story concept, expand your skills and understand the Program’s structure, opportunities, and support.

Attendance is reserved exclusively for members of the 2026 Australia Speaks cohort. Final venue, arrival and access information will be provided directly to confirmed participants.

By the end of the day, you should leave ready - or close to ready - to begin developing a factual story that reflects your voice, interests and ambitions, with a clearer pathway for the six weeks ahead.
