Mia dreams of being a dancer just like her mother, but when she realises she is no longer the centre of her mother's world she gives in to her destructive impulses. It takes Mia's grandmother to give her a fresh perspective and perhaps a second chance to make her dreams come true.
My name is Lily and I am the Producer of Hold Me Closer. I was drawn to filmmaking as a career because I love telling stories and conveying messages to people in an accessible way. I want people see themselves in my work and hope that they feel less alone in this world of "normal".
What inspired you and your work?
My film was inspired by the Writer's grandmother who was a famous ballerina, when I was given the script to produce I added aspects from my own life and even took inspiration from my sister to adapt the character of Mia. I love telling stories about female relationships and how those dynamics work out between friends and families.
