Passion
From Keira O'Connor
‘Passion' is a short film exploring the emotional fatigue, relentless grind, and unwavering love for filmmaking. Told through the eyes of Emma, a young actress chasing success, the film reveals her sacrifices and unyielding hope despite the struggles of an industry where success feels just out of reach. Emma’s journey embodies the enduring love for storytelling, offering a tribute to creatives who give their all for the art, not fame. While focused on actors, 'Passion' speaks to the universal struggle of burnout and the pursuit of one's dreams.
Hey! I’m Keira O’Connor! I am a Melbourne based actor, producer, and director best known for my lead role as Kerri in the Australian TV Series ‘Flunk’.
I also star in feature films such as, Data Creep, Lost & Found You (Tubi), Detention with Daisy (Amazon Prime Video), Falling for Daisy (Amazon Prime Video) and They Kiss At The End (Amazon Prime Video).
I have since worked in other aspects of the film industry. I made my directorial debut ""Passion"", in which I also wrote, produced and starred. Since then, I have gone on to produce and assistant direct other films and continue to work within the industry, not only as an actor but also a filmmaker."What inspired you and your work?
What inspired you and your work?
Passion was inspired by my real experiences as an actor. I love my work as a filmmaker but sometimes it can be quite gruelling. I wanted to shed light on the often unseen side of acting: the rejection, the grind, the struggle, but show why we continue doing it. Passion explores themes of burnout and the emotional toll of chasing your dreams when nothing seems to go right, which I myself have experienced a number of times.
