A late-night call to a train station's Lost & Found sends a woman spiralling through memory, regret, and the fragile hope of reconnection.

Hi, my name is Alice La and I am an emerging Melbourne-based filmmaker. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film and Television) at the Victorian College of the Arts, and have an immense passion for directing and writing. I have a particular interest in emotionally driven dramas that focus on complex internal, romantic and familial dynamics. While filmmaking is my main interest, I also love to draw, specialising in hyperrealistic graphite art. Thus, with my background of both visual art and writing, I strive to bring a strong sense of symbolism and composition to my filmmaking.

What inspired you and your work?

My film was inspired by the fleeting connections we experience in our every day lives, that can have a lasting impact on the way we view things such as our future, love and more. I have experienced many of these meaningful encounters in my life, romantic and platonic, which have taught me that not all people are supposed to stay in our lives. Sometimes they only appear to teach you a lesson, before you must let them go.
