Although I never went to film school, my passion for cinema and filmmaking began in High School when I would draw digitized animations and storyboards. Somehow I managed to get my debut feature film, the microbudget musical romantic comedy feature film "The Wing Girl" streaming on Amazon Prime. After being selected into fourteen film festivals worldwide for my subsequent absurdist comedy short "I Have a Boyfriend", I ventured into to dramatic territory with my second feature film 'Violet', which recently screened at the Gold Coast Film Festival, and has garnered over 40 wins and nominations across worldwide festivals thus far.

I remember being struck by Angela Carter's 'The Bloody Chamber' during my second year Literature course in University. The images were vividly stuck in my mind so I always wanted to adapt it in some way. The subject matter of the cyclical nature of abuse exploreed in the music gave me the opportunity to indulge in that. As I've never attempted a genre romp before, I am lucky enough to have a crew that is well-versed in the Gothic genre, possibly even more so than myself. So for me, the sensibilities I am able to bring to the table is really acknowledging the horror within the nature of abuse. The fear and doubts of tackling this subject matter for me, lies in the real horror which manifests through in the finished picture.
